As part of our API Procurement/Sourcing Team, you will have an exciting position within a highly motivated international team. You will play a key role in the development of pharmaceutical products in the Tiefenbacher Group. You will be responsible for identifying the right active pharmaceutical Ingredients supplier and procuring them at a competitive price for development and thereafter. This job is an ideal position for experienced API Procurement- / Sourcing Managers who want to work independently and entrepreneurial in a successful, fast paced, international company.

A challenging task

  • Conducting price and contract negotiations with active ingredient manufacturers worldwide with the aim of achieving the optimal strategic and economic positioning of our pharmaceutical products
  • Carrying out regular price benchmarking as well as identification and selection of alternative active ingredient manufacturers
  • Coordination of API deliveries in close cooperation with internal departments such as Customer Service and Quality Assurance
  • Active participation and responsibility for API-relevant topics in interdisciplinary project teams of the Tiefenbacher Group
  • Regularly maintaining contact with API manufacturers to build up a long-term and trusting business relationship
  • Direct reporting line to the Director of Supply Chain Management

A convincing background

  • Completed degree in economics, natural sciences, or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry with extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Willingness to conduct regular supplier visits worldwide (with a focus on Europe, India, and China)
  • Ideally, an existing network of contacts with API manufacturers globally
  • Knowledge of API synthesis routes for commercial evaluation is an advantage
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and motivation to explore new approaches
  • Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness to achieve annual price improvements
  • Excellent analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach
  • Strong communication skills, enabling effective business relationships with partners from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • High standards of work quality and the ability to stay calm and maintain a sense of humor during busy periods
  • Fluent English skills are essential, while strong German skills are an advantage
  • Proficiency in standard IT software (MS Office, Power BI)
